How to Transform Your Week With One Simple Sunday Habit

Building something meaningful in your daily life often starts with small, steady habits. Imagine dedicating a set time every week to a project or a skill you care about. For me, Sunday mornings are sacred. I spend about an hour and a half in the botanical garden, sometimes learning something new, sometimes working on a side business I want to grow, or even writing a book to build my reputation as an author.

The key is to treat this habit as non-negotiable. Just like brushing your teeth or taking a shower, this weekly focus time becomes part of your routine. Nothing should interrupt it. Once a week, every Sunday, I find myself in an environment that lifts my mood and sparks my creativity. There’s even a cozy café nearby where you can grab a latte and sit by a pond with ducks, turtles, and water lilies. It’s a small paradise.

Your environment matters more than you might think. Some people say it doesn’t affect them, but I believe it always has an impact, even if it’s subtle. Where you spend your time shapes your mood and your creative energy. Scientific studies have shown that green spaces boost both creativity and morale. For example, companies with plants in their offices see happier, more innovative employees. Compare that to a dull office with gray carpet and harsh neon lights, and the difference is obvious. A bit of greenery helps you find smarter, simpler solutions.

So, pick a spot where you know you’ll spend one or two hours every week, fully focused. Treat it like a sprint. Too often, we sit down at our computers and end up wandering the internet, watching tutorials, or getting distracted by things that don’t matter. Instead, jump straight into action. If you get stuck, allow yourself just one search for help—no more. This keeps you from falling down the rabbit hole of endless links and resources.

I’m not a big fan of search engines for this reason. They throw too many options at you, and it’s easy to get lost. That’s why I recommend using AI chat tools instead. You ask your question, get a clear answer, and move on. It’s much more productive.

Try this: every Sunday, go to a place that feels a little special to you. Even if it’s not perfect, make it your own. For me, Saint-Denis isn’t exactly a dream destination, but the garden there is wonderful and makes a big difference in my week.
