How to Transform Your Life by Reading Just 3 Pages a Day

Reading is one of those daily habits that seems simple, yet it can completely change the way you learn and grow. I always recommend reading one to three pages every day, especially on a topic that truly matters to you. This small commitment can make a big difference in your daily learning and personal development.

For example, I often pick up a book on business or something practical. Even if there’s noise around me or distractions, I still make time to read a few pages. Depending on the book’s complexity, it might take five to fifteen minutes. If the book is dense or if I want to take notes or try out what I’m learning, it might take a bit longer.

Sometimes, I read about meditation or music therapy. I always try to practice what I read right away. If I come across a new type of active meditation, I’ll try it on myself immediately. Recently, I read about how we all have a part of us that wants something good—like wanting to be with someone who respects us. But there’s often another part, shaped by past bad experiences, that’s afraid things will go wrong again. This fear can lead us to sabotage new relationships or even our work life.

Here’s a simple exercise I learned from a book and tried myself: Use your dominant hand (for me, it’s my left since I’m left-handed; for most, it’s the right) to represent the positive, hopeful part of you. Use your other hand to represent the fearful, protective side that sometimes sabotages your efforts. Notice how these two sides can work together. Place one hand over the other, then put both hands over your heart. This helps you see how both sides can coexist and support a more balanced, healthy life.

Practicing what you read right away is powerful. If you wait, the information fades and becomes less useful. The best way to learn for the long term is to apply what you’ve just read as soon as possible.

Daily reading, especially non-fiction, lifts you up and helps you realize your own potential. We all have ten or twenty minutes in our day, yet we often skip this habit that, I’m convinced, can truly change your life.
