Sometimes, the Only Way Out Is a New Way of Thinking
Working Differently: How to Take Back Control of Your Life by Thinking Differently
If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.
Have you ever felt stuck in a job or a routine you just can’t stand? Maybe you think you’re trapped, like you’ve fallen into a well with no way out. But here’s something important: there’s always someone out there who actually enjoys the work you dislike. The world is full of people with different tastes and strengths. What feels like a burden to you might be a joy for someone else.
It’s easy to believe you’re the only one who can do your job, or that nobody else would want it. But that’s just not true. There’s always a solution, even if it means stepping off the usual path and trying something new.
Stop Doing What You Hate
First, ask yourself: what would happen if you simply stopped doing the things you hate? Sometimes, the answer is nothing bad at all. For example, if you don’t reply to an email within a minute, the world won’t end. Clients can wait a few hours. Even a simple automatic reply saying, “Your message has been received and you’ll get a response within 24 hours,” can reassure people and take pressure off you.
Automate and Delegate
Automation is a powerful tool. In my previous company, we used automation all the time. For example, when someone sent an email, a tool like Zapier would send the message to ChatGPT, which would generate a helpful reply based on a detailed prompt. The prompt included everything ChatGPT needed to know—how to update payment details, how to delete an account, how to find a dashboard, and so on. If the client replied again, then a real person would step in to help. This mix of automation and delegation saved us a lot of time.
You can often combine automation and delegation. Let technology handle the repetitive stuff, and let people handle the exceptions. This frees up your time for things that matter more.
The Prison We Build for Ourselves

Sometimes, we create our own prisons. We convince ourselves there’s no way out, but that’s rarely true. There’s almost always a door—you just have to look for it and be willing to try something different. If you want a different life, you have to do things differently. If you keep repeating the same actions, you’ll keep getting the same results.
Trying new things means you’ll make mistakes, but you’ll also learn. Over time, you’ll find the solutions that work for you. That’s how you move forward.
Organize, Affirm, and Act
A big part of living well is planning ahead. Organize your day the night before. Practice a little self-love—stand in front of the mirror and say something positive to yourself. These small rituals can boost your confidence and help you feel proud of who you are.
Your posture, your words, and your habits all shape your future. One choice can change everything. Good habits lead to long-term success. Doing nothing—lying in bed all day, watching videos—won’t change your life. Instead, treat each day as an investment. Use your time well, because you can never get it back.
The Beauty of the Journey
Life is like a path. If you enjoy what you’re doing, you don’t worry about where the path leads. If you don’t, you keep wondering when it will end. But if you love your journey, you live in the moment. That’s what happiness is about.
