How to Succeed Without Losing Your Happiness

Success is never easy. Wanting to achieve something meaningful takes a lot of perseverance and daily discipline. If you don’t have enough discipline, or if you don’t know exactly where you want to go each day, you’ll end up scattered, pulled in every direction, and your days will lack structure. Without structure, your days won’t add up to much.
If you want to succeed, you need a clear list of what you want to do and how your day will unfold. The first thing I recommend is to visualize your day in the morning. Imagine, in advance, how your day will go. Prepare yourself mentally: What will you accomplish? Which things really matter? Is it truly worth doing this, or would it be better to focus on something else? What do you want to achieve today that will make a real difference?
This isn’t just about productivity. It’s also about your happiness. Ask yourself: At the end of the day, if I do this, how will I feel? Will I be happy, or will I feel frustrated or annoyed? If something is likely to bring you frustration, maybe it’s not worth your time. Weigh the pros and cons of what you want to do.
I always keep a notebook to jot down the things that are essential for me to accomplish. What are the things that, if you do them, will have a real impact on your day and your sense of achievement? These are the things that will make you feel proud and happy with yourself.
It’s important to regularly ask yourself: Do I really want to do this? If so, how? And if you notice negative energy or frustration because you can’t do something the way you wanted, it’s time to change your approach. Sometimes, you need to question yourself and try a different method to move closer to what you truly want to achieve.
Step by step, you’ll see how you can improve what you do each day to create your best possible day. That’s what real success is: doing something consistently, every day. Discipline is key, but so is perseverance. There will be days when you don’t feel like doing something, but you know it will have a positive impact on your future. If you skip it, you might regret it later, or it might hurt your progress.

The more you do something daily, the more it becomes a habit—just like brushing your teeth or taking a shower. You don’t even think about whether you’ll do it or not; it’s simply part of your routine. That’s how you should approach the things that matter to you. Build habits so you don’t have to rely on motivation or your mood. It becomes automatic: you do it because it’s part of who you are.
For example, if you go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, your body gets used to it. You’ll wake up feeling less tired, and sometimes you’ll even wake up just before your alarm. That’s a great feeling, because you start your day energized and ready to accomplish what matters.
It’s also important to recognize when something that used to work for you no longer serves you. Maybe writing blog articles was valuable in the past, but now it doesn’t bring much anymore. It’s okay to stop and focus on what matters most today. You have to adapt to new demands and not get stuck in old habits just because they once worked. Stubbornness is different from perseverance. Perseverance is positive because you keep going intelligently, questioning yourself and pivoting when needed. Stubbornness is just doing the same thing over and over, even when it no longer works.
At the end of each day, take a moment to reflect. How was your day? Was it a happy day? Rate your day from 0 to 20. If it’s an 18, that’s great. But if it’s a 14 or less, ask yourself why. Go back through your day step by step and see what went wrong. Sometimes, it’s not that what you did was bad, but that you did it for too long. I love working on my computer, but if I spend the whole day on it, I don’t feel good. My day isn’t balanced.
Balance is everything. If you spend all day on one thing, your day won’t be harmonious or healthy. It’s like cooking: a little salt brings out the flavor, but too much ruins the dish. The same goes for sugar in a dessert or cherries on a cake. One cherry is perfect, but a hundred cherries make it unrecognizable. Don’t overdo the precious ingredients in your day.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you have to finish everything, but if you overdo it, you’ll end up with a day that feels wasted. That’s why it’s important to rate your day and see what you could have done differently.
These are the key ingredients for a successful life—a life you’ll love. I truly wish you the best, and I know you can succeed at shaping your days. It takes practice, and it won’t happen overnight. But little by little, you’ll move closer to your own version of success, rich not just in money, but in happiness too. Because there’s no point in being wealthy if you don’t enjoy your days or your life. In the end, a beautiful life is made up of many beautiful days.
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

A beautiful life is nothing more than a collection of beautiful days.
