How to Start Over Without Waiting for the “Right Moment”

Many of us find ourselves stuck in the routine of daily life. We go through the motions, unsure if what we’re doing is right, or even if it’s what we truly want. Maybe our lifestyle feels too monotonous, or we simply believe life has more to offer. Deep down, we know we deserve better. Life is short, and instead of waiting or standing still, the best thing we can do is take action now.

Taking action isn’t always pleasant. Sometimes it hurts, and sacrifices are required. Not everything is easy or perfect, but life is worth living fully. Sometimes, all it takes is a leap. For example, if you dream of living in Iceland, go live there for a few months. If it doesn’t work out, you can always come back. That’s not a failure. At least you’ll know what it’s like.

Too often, we think that if we try something new—like starting a business, moving to another country, or changing our lifestyle—and it doesn’t work, returning to our old life means we’ve failed. But that’s not true at all. On the contrary, you’ve gained valuable experience. Maybe this experience will lead you to something else in the near future. Without it, you wouldn’t have the skills or maturity that come from living through it.

Jumping from one opportunity to another helps you build your character and knowledge, preparing you for even bigger things. The real lesson here is that every experience counts. Never put off what you want to do today. Life is too short to keep postponing your dreams, your resignation, or your next step. Sometimes, giving your notice at work is the point of no return. Once you do it, you’re committed. The same goes for registering your business. Once you take that step, you have to move forward—find your first clients, talk to potential customers, and start building trust. This way, you already have some momentum when you begin your new life.

Life deserves to be lived with both hands. Look around—life is beautiful. Sometimes, it’s all about how you see things. Your perception shapes your reality. If you’re surrounded by negative people or living in a country where you don’t feel safe, it’s not worth staying. The world is big, and you are free to go elsewhere. This creates a kind of competition, pushing governments to improve conditions to keep talented people who want to create wonderful things.

When we feel happy and safe, that’s when we create amazing things. That’s when we do work that truly matters. I hope these thoughts inspire you to try new things and step out of your comfort zone. We can all achieve great things, but it’s important to dare, to take action, and to find the right environment. Just because your environment is good today doesn’t mean it will always be. Everything changes. The world is vast and beautiful, so don’t keep putting off what you want to learn or start.

Learning something new or becoming an expert in a field doesn’t mean you’ll do it forever. It’s just a chapter in your life. For example, I love baking rum baba cakes every Sunday, but that doesn’t mean I’ll become a pastry chef.
