How to Start Anything Without Waiting for the Perfect Moment

Taking action is often the hardest step. We all have dreams, projects, or trips we want to start, but we keep waiting for the “right moment.” Maybe you want to write a page of your book, book a flight to Bali or Costa Rica, start coding a new app, or launch a web3 project. The list goes on. The truth is, the perfect moment never comes. There’s always a reason to wait, to postpone, to tell yourself you’ll do it tomorrow.
One thing that really helps is creating a point of no return. For example, once you book your flight, you have to go. If you’ve always wanted to visit Antarctica, book the ticket tonight. If you need a visa, apply for it now. Once you’ve made that commitment, you’re already on your way. The same goes for writing a book—maybe you book a five-star hotel with a spa, and because you’ve invested so much, you’ll feel compelled to write and make the most of your stay. The important thing is to do something now. There is no perfect time.
There’s a Chinese proverb that says the best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second-best time is now. That’s exactly how it works with action. Don’t wait for the stars to align. Start today, right now.
I’m writing my book as I speak, using my Freewrite device. It’s a great tool, but what matters most is that I’m doing it. What about you? What do you want to achieve? Maybe you’re still searching for your passion. Here’s a tip: think back to what you loved doing between the ages of 8 and 13, before you were influenced by classmates or the pressure to fit in. What did you enjoy in your free time? Did you love playing with toys, building things, or collecting items?

For example, I loved my pirate ship and Playmobil toys. I collected them, and if I were still looking for a passion, I could sell collectible Playmobil sets on Shopify or another e-commerce platform. That could become a new hobby. Or, since I’m a developer, I could create Playmobil-themed games, even if it sounds a bit old-fashioned. If you like board games, maybe you could turn that into a web3 app. The point is, you can mix what you loved as a child with what you know now, and suddenly, you have a new idea.
So, if you’re searching for your passion, look at what you enjoyed before you cared about what others thought. Combine that with your current skills, and you might find your next project. But above all, take action. No more excuses. I’m with you.
