When you think about success, you might picture hard work, discipline, or even luck. But there’s something we often overlook: the power of our environment. Right now, as I look around at the Christmas decorations in my home, I’m reminded how much the space around us can change everything.

Decorating for the holidays brings a special kind of magic. Even if you can’t see all the ornaments from where you’re sitting, just knowing they’re there adds a spark to the room. Creating this kind of magic in your environment isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about building a universe that feels right for you—a place where you feel at home, inspired, and full of energy.

When you shape your surroundings to match your taste and needs, you start to feel happier. It’s like being a fish in water. You belong. This sense of belonging is more important than we often admit. Your home, your workspace, even your favorite corner in a café or your garden—these places can lift you up and help you get more done.

For me, having the right environment is essential, especially when I’m working on something important like my capstone project. I choose spaces that support me, that make me want to focus and do my best. Everyone is different, though. Maybe you thrive in a quiet library. Libraries in English-speaking countries like Canada, the US, Australia, and New Zealand are fantastic, even in small towns. The UK has some great ones too, though they’re a bit more traditional. In France and nearby countries, libraries are less common, but the UK is just next door.

Or maybe your ideal spot is your garden, your balcony, or your terrace. The key is to know yourself and find the environment that helps you grow. The right space can speed up your progress and keep you moving toward your goals.

Life is short. If you can work in a way that feels like a passion—something you’d do with friends at a bar, just for the joy of it—everything changes. Work stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling like a part of who you are.

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.

Your environment will eat your goals and plans for breakfast.
