Life deserves to be lived to the fullest. Too often, we tell ourselves we need to save money, to be careful, to wait for the right moment. Of course, saving is important. But money comes and goes. Time, on the other hand, only goes. If you’re just going through the motions, not really enjoying your days, you’re losing precious time—and that means losing pieces of your life.
Time is the most valuable resource we have. It’s like a train that never stops. That’s why it’s so important to enjoy life, to take time for yourself, and to be present wherever you are. Living in the moment, appreciating your surroundings, and truly being where you are—these things are priceless.
When you take in the environment around you, you gain so much more than you might expect. You collect new experiences, new knowledge, and resources you might never have found otherwise. For example, as I sit here, I’m looking at a playground. There used to be a swing set, but it looks like they’ve taken it down for maintenance. The park is always being cared for, and even though today is a bit cloudy, it’s still such a pleasant place to be. I love spending time here. I’ve even gone swimming in the bay nearby—though you have to be careful, since there was a shark attack here not long ago. Thankfully, the person survived, but it’s a reminder that every place has its risks.
This bay is beautiful. It’s the same bay that leads to the Sydney Opera House. From here, you can see the ferries passing by, heading towards the city. It’s a peaceful spot, close to the ocean, and I find it calming. Taking time to slow down, to relax, and to enjoy the simple things is so important. Often, it’s the simplest things that lift us up the most and give us the foundation to build something great.
Sometimes, all you need is to read a good book, write a little, or just take a step back and reflect on your life. These moments of reflection are essential. Ask yourself: What do I want to do today? What do I want to do tomorrow? What should I change, and what should I keep in my life? We all have things we want to adjust, keep, or swap out. Taking a step back to think about these questions is crucial, because life keeps moving forward, and we’re all getting older. Making good decisions and enjoying the present is far better than waiting for retirement or some distant future to finally start living. The truth is, no one knows what the future holds.
