We all want more happy moments—those times when you just feel good, when things seem lighter, and you’re truly content. But happiness doesn’t just fall from the sky. It’s something you can build, little by little, by creating your own moments of comfort and joy. And the best way to do that? Start with a routine.
Let’s talk about mornings. When you wake up, what do you do? Maybe you have breakfast, maybe you step outside for some fresh air, or maybe you grab a coffee. For me, living in Melbourne, my morning starts with a walk to a nearby coffee shop for a really good cup of coffee. That’s my ritual. But before that, I drink two glasses of water at room temperature. I actually talk about this in my book, Success Is Not Far Away—why it’s important to drink water about fifteen minutes after waking up. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference.
After that, I might go for a short jog or just take some time for myself before the workday begins. Having one or two hours in the morning, just for you, is a real game-changer. Imagine waking up at six, and not having to be at the office until eight-thirty or nine. That window of time is what I call my “reset moment.” It’s when I get back in tune with myself, get into the right vibe, and do something that matches my needs.
Maybe you work on a small project, or invest just ten minutes a day in learning something new—watching a video, for example. Ten minutes a day adds up to over an hour a week. That’s enough to finish a whole course in just a week. It’s amazing what you can do with just a little bit of time each morning.

Why do this in the morning? Because you never know what the day will throw at you. There’s mental clutter, unexpected problems, and all sorts of things that can drain your energy and cloud your mind. That’s why it’s so important to start your day with something that’s just for you, before anything else gets in the way.
So, when you wake up tomorrow, ask yourself: What do I want to do? What do I want to achieve today? This simple question can change everything. It’s changed my life. My morning reset gives me the energy and focus I need to be more present and invested in the rest of my day.
The real secret is regularity. Go to bed at the same time every night, wake up at the same time every morning, and invest a little bit in yourself each day. Every day is a new chance to become the person you want to be.
