What’s the real secret to feeling good? It’s simpler than you think: do things that bring you joy. That’s it. But as simple as it sounds, it’s often the hardest thing to put into practice. Life gets in the way. Social pressure, endless distractions, and our own habits can pull us away from the present moment. We struggle to focus, to be truly present, and to do things just for ourselves—things that make us happy and don’t leave us frustrated.
Let me share something personal. For me, waking up early is a game-changer. There’s this saying: “The day belongs to those who wake up early.” That fits me perfectly. When I get up early, I have so much more energy. I can focus on what matters most to me because I’m fully present. I do things well, with real quality, because I’m 100% there. For example, if I create a course in the morning, it’s always better than if I do it in the afternoon or evening. I don’t have to search for my words. I’m happier, more enthusiastic, and more present. The difference is clear.
It’s the same with solving problems. Recently, I had a technical issue with my software—a DNS certificate problem. If you’re not into tech, don’t worry, but basically, my server’s certificate expired and all the subdomains went down. I tried to fix it at night and got nowhere. I felt frustrated and went to bed late. But the next morning, with a fresh mind, I found the solution right away.
Sometimes, stepping back, taking a walk, or just pausing helps you see things clearly. You find the reason something wasn’t working. It’s the same in life. Sometimes we don’t know why things aren’t going well, why we feel stuck. Just taking a moment to reflect, to ask yourself if there’s a better way, often leads to the answer. Most of the time, there is a better way.
So here’s my wish for you: listen to yourself. Go far in your life. The best time to act, to make decisions, is now—not tomorrow, not later. There’s no point in putting off what you want to do today. The best moment is always now.
For me, today is beautiful outside. I’m going to head near the bay, rest a bit, think about my ideas, maybe read, and just enjoy the moment. I’ll send a postcard and slip it into my backpack. That’s it—simple things that make me feel good.
