For many people, the weekend is a sacred pause. After a week of hard work, Friday afternoon brings a sense of relief. The thought of going home, doing things you love, and simply relaxing is something most of us look forward to. Saturday feels like a reward, but by Sunday, a certain heaviness creeps in. The looming Monday morning brings back the routine, and the cycle starts all over again.

But have you ever wondered why Monday feels so tough? The real problem is not Monday itself, but the way we see our week. If you find yourself counting down the days until Friday, it might be because you don’t truly enjoy your weekdays. The break becomes a lifeline, and the restart on Monday feels like a burden.

What if every day could feel as good as Friday evening? Imagine waking up on Monday with the same excitement and satisfaction you feel at the start of the weekend. This isn’t just wishful thinking—it’s possible, but it takes some effort and a shift in mindset.

Find Joy in Your Work Environment

One of the best ways to make your week more enjoyable is to create a pleasant work environment. For example, I often edit videos for programming courses I publish on YouTube. Editing can be tedious, but I’ve learned to make it enjoyable by changing my surroundings. Sometimes, I work in a coworking space, which instantly makes the experience better.

If you have the chance, try working in a different setting. There are these amazing office pods you can set up in your garden. Imagine working in your own backyard, surrounded by nature, with a panoramic window to watch the stars at night. It’s a game changer for your mood and productivity. Yes, these pods come at a price, but personal happiness is priceless. When you’re happy, you’re willing to invest in yourself, just like you would do anything to regain your health if you were sick.

Change Your Scenery

If you can’t set up a pod in your garden, there are plenty of other options. I love working from cafés—especially Café Nero in the UK and Ireland. The cozy atmosphere, the smell of coffee, and the buzz of people make it a great place to work. Starbucks and Costa Coffee are also good choices, and you can find them almost everywhere, even in places like Dubai and Singapore.

Libraries are another fantastic option. In English-speaking countries, libraries are usually free and open for hours. I’ve spent countless hours in the Victoria Library in Melbourne, the Vancouver library in Canada, and many others in the UK and New Zealand. These places are not just for reading—they’re perfect for working, studying, or just soaking in the calm energy.

Coworking spaces are also worth considering. I used to have a membership at Hub Australia, and it was a great way to meet people and stay motivated.

Make Your Routine Enjoyable

It’s not just about where you work, but how you work. Listen to music you love, adjust your working hours if possible, and treat yourself to your favorite drink—mine is coconut water. Small pleasures can make a big difference.

The key is to turn your daily routine into something you look forward to, not something you have to endure. When you enjoy your weekdays, the weekend becomes just another part of a life you love, not an escape from it.
