Living simply is more than just a trend; it’s a way to feel lighter and happier every single day. When you create a life where everything is as simple as possible, everything else falls into place. The less you own, the less complicated your life becomes. This isn’t just about minimalism for the sake of it, but about making your daily life easier and your mind clearer.

Think about it: every extra thing you own adds a bit of complexity. Maybe it’s an extra computer, a spare phone, or even just too many spoons in the kitchen drawer. The more you have, the more you have to manage. If you cut back to the essentials, you remove a lot of unnecessary stress. Even something as small as having only two spoons, instead of a whole drawer full, can make a difference. If you ever need more, there’s always the supermarket five minutes away, or you could ask a neighbor. That’s a great way to connect with people around you, too.

The real benefit of simplifying is the freedom it brings to your mind. When you have fewer things, you spend less time searching for lost items or worrying about charging devices. For example, I used to stress about charging my watch or finding my scratched sunglasses. All these little worries take up space in your mind and drain your energy. They distract you from what really matters and stop you from focusing on the things that make you truly happy.

If you want to spend your days creating things you love, you need to clear out the clutter. Otherwise, your attention is always divided. Even if just 10, 20, or 30 percent of your mind is busy with these small problems, that’s energy you can’t use for what’s important to you.

That’s why I believe in keeping things minimal, especially for your mental health. Only buy something new if it truly replaces something else you already have. If you have two pairs of scissors, keep the better one. Don’t hold onto the old one “just in case.” If it breaks, you can always get another. The same goes for glasses, phones, or anything else. Before, you managed just fine with only one. Keeping extras just adds more decisions and more things to worry about.

A cluttered environment leads to wasted time and energy. You end up searching for things, swapping SIM cards, or just feeling overwhelmed by all the stuff around you. But when you live simply, everything becomes easier and more enjoyable. You’ll be amazed at how much more you can do, and how much happier you’ll feel.

Living simply isn’t just about having fewer things. It’s about making space in your life for what really matters. When you have less, you lose less. You always know where your things are, and you spend less time searching and more time living.
