Life deserves to be enjoyed to the fullest. Yet, so often, we find ourselves holding back, telling ourselves we need to save money, be careful, or wait for the right moment. Saving is important, of course, but money is just a flow—it comes and goes. Time, on the other hand, only moves forward. If you let life pass you by, if you don’t truly enjoy your time, that’s time lost forever. And time is the most precious resource we have, because it’s like a train that never stops.
Enjoying life means being present, appreciating where you are, and living in the moment. There’s no price tag on that. When you take in your surroundings and really notice the place you’re in, it lifts you up. It gives you new resources, new knowledge, and new information you might not have found otherwise.
Right now, I’m looking at a playground in front of me. There used to be a swing set there, but maybe they’ve taken it down for repairs or to replace it. The park is always being maintained, which is great. Even though today is a bit cloudy and the weather isn’t perfect, it’s still such a pleasant place to be. I love being here. I’ve even swum in the water nearby, though you have to be careful—there was a shark attack last year. The person survived, but it was a close call. That’s the only real downside: the sharks, especially if you swim too far out into the bay.
But otherwise, it’s a beautiful bay. This is the same bay that leads to the Sydney Opera House. We’re a bit closer to the ocean here, but it’s all part of Sydney. The Opera House is over there, the Harbour Bridge is nearby, and the ferries pass through here all the time. It’s a wonderful, calming place. I love it because it helps me relax and unwind.

It’s so important to have moments where you slow down, decompress, and think about life. Often, it’s the simplest things that help us grow the most. A good book, writing a little, or just taking a step back to reflect on your life—these are the things that give us the foundation to build something bigger.
Taking a step back is essential. Give yourself time to reflect: What will I do today? What about tomorrow? What do I want to change, and what do I want to keep? We all have things we want to adjust, keep, or swap out, and it’s important to think about these things. Life keeps moving, and we’re all getting older. So, make good decisions and enjoy the present instead of waiting for retirement or some distant future to finally start living. No one knows what the future holds. The goal is to be happy now, to have a peaceful life with fewer worries.
“The trouble is, you think you have time.”
— Jack Kornfield
“Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.”
— Jim Rohn
So, take time for yourself. Relax, unwind, and enjoy the simple things. That’s what really matters.
