How to Learn More WITHOUT Adding Hours to Your Day

Have you ever wondered how you could learn more without adding extra hours to your day? The truth is, you don’t need to spend endless time to keep growing. There are so many learning platforms out there that make it easy to pick up new skills and knowledge, even if you only have a few minutes each day.

One of my favorites is Audible. I have no partnership with them; I just use it a lot. Right now, I’m listening to Jim Kwik’s book, “Limitless.” His story is inspiring—he had a brain injury as a child and struggled with learning, but now he’s an expert in memory and learning techniques. There are plenty of other great books too, like “The 5 Second Rule.”

Another platform I use is Udemy. I’ve even published a couple of programming courses there myself. Udemy is a fantastic place to find courses on almost anything you want to learn. And then there’s Kindle Unlimited, which gives you access to a huge library of books for a monthly fee. You can also buy books individually if you prefer.

Here’s an idea that changed the way I approach learning: set aside a small percentage of your income—maybe 3% or 5%—just for learning. Open a separate savings account and set up an automatic transfer each month. It’s easy to do with most banking apps. This way, you always have a budget for books, courses, or anything else that helps you grow.

I use a Kindle Oasis for reading. It’s waterproof, so you can read in the bath, and it has a backlight for reading at night. The Paperwhite is also a good choice and a bit more affordable.

There are other platforms worth mentioning. Shortform offers book summaries, which are great when you want the key ideas without reading the whole book. Kube is another French platform that’s starting to offer English books as well. Snowball (now part of Medium) is also interesting for curated content. And don’t forget podcasts like “TED Radio Hour”—they’re perfect for learning on the go.

The real secret is to make learning a daily habit. Just like brushing your teeth or taking a shower, set aside at least 15 minutes every day. We all have 15 minutes, even on our busiest days. The key is consistency. If you spend three hours learning once and then stop, you won’t see much progress. But if you do 15 minutes every day, it adds up quickly—about 1 hour and 45 minutes a week, or 4 and a half hours a month. That’s a lot of new knowledge over time.

This daily habit is like compound interest. It doesn’t seem like much at first, but over months and years, it makes a huge difference. Try it, and you’ll see real results.

“Small daily improvements are the key to staggering long-term results.”
— James Clear

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
— Benjamin Franklin
