Improvement is not about being a perfectionist. It’s about listening to yourself, noticing your progress, and seeing where you still have space to grow. There’s always available room ahead—space for you to move forward, even if you feel like you’ve been stuck lately.
Maybe you’ve noticed that over the past month, things haven’t really changed for you. Your business numbers are flat, or your personal growth feels stalled. Instead of just sitting back and thinking, “Well, that’s how it is,” ask yourself: “What can I do to move things forward?” The key is to avoid getting too comfortable. Compare yourself not to others, but to who you were a month ago, three weeks ago, or even just last week. Have things changed? Or are you just repeating the same actions, expecting something different to happen?
It’s easy to fall into routines. We like habits because they’re safe and predictable. But if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting the same results. As someone once said, it’s madness to expect a different outcome if you always use the same formula. This is true in science, in life, and in business.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
— Albert Einstein
So, what can you do? Start by shaking things up. Today, for example, I took a walk in Mascot, Sydney, near the airport. It’s a fresh area with new apartments, a small park, and even benches everywhere—something that’s very Australian. These benches are comfortable, unlike the cold metal ones you find in some cities that seem designed to keep people away. Here, the environment is welcoming, and it makes a difference in how you feel and think.

Sometimes, changing your environment is exactly what you need to break out of a rut. Being around new people, brainstorming, or even moving to a new place can help you see things differently. As a freelancer, I love this freedom. If you’re a freelancer too, or if you run an agency and feel like you’re stuck, ask yourself: “What can I do to push myself further?” There’s always something. Maybe it’s learning a new skill, meeting new people, or just questioning your own limits.
Often, we hit a ceiling and think, “That’s as far as I can go.” But those limits are usually just in our heads. There’s always a way to go further. Sometimes, you need to change your surroundings, or the people you spend time with. Other times, it’s about questioning your own habits and routines.
If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.
— Thomas Jefferson
The best time to take action is always today. Life is short, and time is like a train that never stops. When you waste time, you’re wasting life. So, why wait? Why stay stuck? The best moment to move forward is now.
I love the little things about life here—barbecues in the park, a new playground being built, the simple joy of being outside. These moments remind me that life is about enjoying the journey, not just the destination.
If the path is beautiful, don’t ask where it leads. Just enjoy the walk.
— Anatole France
So, don’t wait for the perfect moment. Don’t settle for what you already have. Keep moving, keep questioning, and keep growing. The best time to start is always now.
