How to Find Success by Defining Your Vision First

Having a vision for your life is more than just wishful thinking. It’s about knowing where you want to go, what will make you happy, and what you need to change or improve to get there. Whether it’s about your daily routine, your year ahead, or the next few months, having a clear direction is crucial.

Take a moment to ask yourself: Where am I heading? What would make me truly happy? What do I need to do differently? Sometimes, it’s about dedicating a bit of time each day to move closer to the life you want.

Let me share a personal example. My vision is to open a cooking space or a café in Costa Rica. To make this happen, I need to gather information, maybe even visit the place, build connections, and network with people there. I have to look into costs, figure out if renting is better than buying, and see what steps I can take to move forward, even if it’s just a little at a time.

This is how you build the life you want. When you have your vision written down and you know what you need to do each day, it helps you climb the ladder much faster. Most importantly, you know where you’re going. You don’t wake up in the morning feeling lost, just going through the motions of work and sleep, wondering why nothing changes.

If you keep doing what you’ve always done, don’t expect anything different. Change is necessary for a different life. That’s why having a vision for a new life or a dream project matters so much. Every day, you can contribute a little to your dream—maybe half an hour, an hour, or even just a few minutes. It’s all about taking one step after another.

Think of it like a long hike. You put one foot in front of the other, and eventually, you reach your destination. Or like writing a book: word after word, page after page, and after some time, you have a finished book. Your life works the same way. If you dedicate a bit of time every day, regularly, you’ll get to where you want to be.

I’m fully committed to this approach. Are you?

If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.
