How to Find Inspiration Without Forcing It

When you draw inspiration naturally, when you feel good in your daily life, everything else tends to fall into place. There’s a well-known phrase in English: Everything will be fine. It’s something people often say to reassure those who are stressed or anxious. But it’s more than just words. It’s a reminder that worrying or feeling stuck never solves anything. Stress doesn’t bring solutions. Instead, it’s about accepting that life is full of surprises.

Often, we call something a “problem” only because it didn’t happen the way we wanted. But if you look at it differently, that’s just another surprise from life. The real beauty of life is that we don’t know what tomorrow will look like. The best way to shape the future is to invest in yourself today. Do things now that might be useful later. You never know what skills or knowledge will come in handy, but by acting today, you’re already building your future.

I spend a lot of time at my desk, coding and solving problems. Sometimes, it feels like I’m glued to my computer from morning to night, losing perspective on my own life. That’s why I make it a point to step back and reflect. For me, walking in the botanical gardens is essential. It’s a time to think, to breathe, and to see things differently. I’ve even made videos there, sharing my thoughts while surrounded by nature.

Taking a break, even for a week, can be powerful. I once wrote about the idea of a “hermit weekend”—spending time in the countryside, away from your phone, just reading, writing, and thinking. You can do this alone, with a partner, or even with your dog. The key is that everyone in the house joins in, disconnects, and takes time to reflect. This distance from daily routines opens new doors and helps you see your life from a fresh angle.

Sometimes, we get so caught up in our work that we forget to ask ourselves important questions. Are we on the right track? Is what we’re doing really what we want? Will we still be happy with these choices in three years? It’s easy to work in your job, but it’s much harder to work on your job—taking a step back and thinking strategically about your life.

Asking yourself these questions is crucial. Too often, we chase productivity and forget to pause. But real growth comes from reflection. You need to look at your life from a distance, to see if what you’re doing truly matches your desires and goals.

There’s a Chinese saying: The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now. If you start now, in 20 years you’ll see the results. It’s the same with your life. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. It will never come. Take action now, and you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now. — Chinese proverb

Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles. It takes away today’s peace. — Unknown
