Have you ever felt unhappy, like you’re not really living your own life? I know I have. There have been many times when I just didn’t feel good about myself. It was as if I was living for other people, not for myself. Maybe you know what I mean. Sometimes, we do things because of social pressure, because we want to be seen a certain way, or simply because it’s the path others have chosen for us. But deep down, that path doesn’t fit. It doesn’t match who we really are.
It’s easy to get caught up in what others expect. You might find yourself making choices just to please people or to fit in. But at the end of the day, you’re the one who has to live your life. You have to make your own decisions. Sometimes, that means leaving your job, your city, or even your country. It means taking a risk, even when people around you say, “How do you know it will be better?” The truth is, you don’t know. But if you never try, you’ll never find out.
We only get one life. So why not try? Maybe you dream of living in the countryside, raising sheep, and making honey. Maybe you think that’s your thing, and after a few years, you realize it’s not for you at all. But at least you lived the experience. The same goes for starting a business. It’s stressful, you lose sleep, but if it excites you, if it pushes you to grow, if it makes you feel alive—then go for it.
Of course, not everyone is built for the same things. Some people just want a simple, peaceful life, without stress or worries. And that’s perfectly fine. Creating a startup, for example, is not a calm life. Some people handle stress better than others, and that’s just how it is. We’re all different. The way we grew up, our families, our personalities—they all shape us. Sure, we can change a little, improve a bit, but at the end of the day, we are who we are. You can’t become someone completely different. You’ll always come back to your true self.
Sometimes, we think we can change everything about ourselves—become outgoing if we’re shy, or stop being stressed. Yes, you can change a little, especially if your environment changes. For example, some people are shy in one country or culture, but not at all in another. We become what our environment allows us to be. If your surroundings lift you up, help you feel good, and let you be happy, then that’s what matters. That’s why sometimes you need to choose a different environment, maybe even a different country, to become the person you want to be.

One thing I’ve learned is that teaching what you learn is a great way to really understand and remember it. Every time you learn something that excites you, try to teach it to someone else in your own words. It helps you grow, and you become more of an expert in the process.
At the end of the day, you have to live your own life. Make choices for yourself, not for others. Try new things, even if you’re not sure they’ll work out. You’ll learn, you’ll grow, and you’ll get closer to real happiness.
