Life deserves to be enjoyed fully. Too often, we get caught up in saving money, worrying about the future, or waiting for the “right” moment to finally relax and be happy. While being careful with money is important, we sometimes forget that time is the one thing we can never get back. Money comes and goes, but time only moves forward. If you’re just going through the motions, not really enjoying your days, you’re losing precious moments of your life.

Time is the most valuable resource we have. It’s like a train that never stops. That’s why it’s so important to make the most of where you are right now, to live in the present, and to appreciate your surroundings. There’s no price tag on that feeling.

When you take in the environment around you—whether it’s a park, a playground, or just a quiet spot—you give yourself the chance to grow. You gain new experiences, new knowledge, and sometimes even resources you never expected. For example, I often find myself watching a playground near me. Sometimes the swings are there, sometimes they’re being repaired, but it’s always interesting to see how the park is maintained and cared for. Even on cloudy days, I love being here. I’ve even swum in the bay nearby, though you have to be careful—there have been shark attacks before. Thankfully, the person involved survived, but it’s a reminder to stay aware of your surroundings.

This bay is beautiful. It’s the same bay that leads to the Sydney Opera House, and if you take the ferry, you pass right through here. The place is calming and peaceful. It’s important to have moments where you can slow down, relax, and just breathe. These pauses let you reflect on your life and notice the small things that often bring the most joy.

It’s usually the simplest things that help us grow the most. Reading a good book, writing a little, or just taking a step back to think about your life—these are the moments that matter. Reflection is key. Ask yourself: What do I want to do today? What do I want to do tomorrow? What should I change or keep in my life? We all have things we want to adjust, and it’s important to take the time to think about them.

Life keeps moving, and so do we. That’s why it’s better to make good decisions now and enjoy the present, instead of waiting for retirement or some distant future to finally start living. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. The real goal is to be happy now, to have a peaceful life with fewer worries.

Time is a train that never stops. Make sure you’re on board, not just watching it pass by.
