Yet, we often overlook this. We tend to think it’s all about our knowledge, our self-confidence, or our ability to push through stress. Sure, confidence helps. Some people can keep their cool even in the most stressful places—airports at the last boarding call, chaotic cities, or even after a natural disaster. But for most of us, the environment has a huge impact.

If you’re in a peaceful place, like where I am right now, everything feels lighter. The calm, the view, the simplicity—it all helps you think more clearly and move ahead. Your environment can carry you, help you climb from one level to the next, and keep you focused on what’s next. You start to think strategically: “What can I do now? What’s the next step? And after that?” With a good environment, you can follow your plan, and things just seem to happen more naturally.

But let’s be honest—not everyone has the luck to live in an inspiring place. Maybe you’re in a tiny apartment, a crowded building, or somewhere that doesn’t feel special at all. Still, you can do something about it. Even in a small space, you can start by removing everything that’s useless. Get rid of the clutter—the things that just take up space and add to your mental load. Where I am now, there’s almost nothing extra. It’s simple, with just a few small decorations. That alone makes a huge difference. When your table is clear, your mind is clear. If you’re surrounded by stuff, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But with less, you can focus on what matters and move straight toward your goals.

So, what can you do? First, clear your space. Take away the things that don’t serve you. Even if your view isn’t as beautiful as mine, you can still make changes. Maybe you can have a lighter floor, or just open the window to let in some air and light. These small changes can make you feel much better.
