The Art of Feeling Alive
RELAXATION. BIEN VIVRE. COMMENT SE RELAXER ?
How Being Present Changes Everything
Living well starts with feeling alive, being here, and truly sensing, “Now I am living, now I am present.” It sounds simple, but being in the present moment is a skill that takes practice. One of the best ways to do this is to take a short walk every day. This is your time alone, a moment to reflect on what you’ve done in the past weeks, what you want to do next, your new goals, and how you can improve. Think about what didn’t go well and how you might have handled things differently.
For example, at the end of my day, around 6 p.m., I look back and ask myself: Did I enjoy how my day went? I visualize everything and consider how I could have been more productive, managed my time better, or handled my relationships differently. Did I say the right things? Did I act in a way I’m proud of? This kind of reflection is a form of self-improvement. You become your own coach.
I love this view I have when I do this exercise. The sun is shining, and even though it’s about to set, the scene is relaxing. Doing this helps clear your mind, like flushing away all the mental clutter. You get rid of the things you’ve been putting off or overthinking. You start fresh, ready to move forward.
This process helps you feel better, more fulfilled—like a seed planted in rich soil, growing stronger every day. You grow as a person, faster than if you just stayed in your comfort zone, doing the same things over and over. If you always do what you’ve always done, you can’t expect anything new to happen.

Trying new things is important. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. What is a mistake, really? It’s just part of moving forward. Everyone makes mistakes, but if you learn from them, that’s how you improve. People often say, “Don’t do that, it doesn’t work.” But sometimes, you need to try it for yourself. The best way to learn is by doing, even if others have warned you. Sometimes your intuition is right, and what didn’t work for someone else might work for you. You have to test things out for yourself.
I call these “presence walks”—walks where you are fully in the now, fully aware. When you are mindful, you can relive your day, reflect, and think about what you can do to make your daily life better. What can you change to improve your routine and your life?
