Let’s talk about personal nourishment—feeding your well-being, your soul, and your true self. It’s easy to say, “Be positive,” but what does that really mean? Why does it matter so much? The way you see things, whether you see the glass half full or half empty, changes everything. If you choose positivity, the world often responds in kind.
When I wake up and step outside with a positive attitude, I find myself open to new opportunities. I’m less stressed, less fearful, and more willing to say yes to life. I smile more, people talk to me more easily, and I run into fewer problems. Even luck seems to be on my side, though I don’t really believe in luck. It’s just that when you’re positive, you’re less likely to stumble—literally and figuratively. Negativity makes you fragile and vulnerable, and people sense that. It’s almost like you become a target for bad experiences.
Positivity also makes you more open to what’s around you. If a friend invites you out for dinner, you’re more likely to say yes, and that could lead to new connections and even more opportunities. It’s the same with health. Being positive strengthens your immune system. Everything inside you lights up.
But this isn’t just about “think positive and everything will be fine.” Life is too short to see everything in black. There’s always something good, and I truly believe that a positive mindset helps you change your life and your environment for the better. If you only focus on the bad news, you won’t improve anything. But if you see opportunities, combine ideas, and connect with others, your energy becomes contagious.
Your mindset shapes your reality. If you’re excited and full of energy, people will believe in your ideas. If you’re always cautious and see danger everywhere, you’ll stay stuck and nothing will change.
So, what does it mean to nourish yourself? It’s about feeding your soul. You need to know your strengths and values. Learn about yourself. Who are you? How can you communicate better? Taking action is part of personal nourishment. Open your mind to others. Don’t judge people just because they’re different. Everyone has their own background and way of seeing things. If we all made the effort to see things from another’s point of view, the world would be a much better place.

Sometimes misunderstandings happen because we think there’s only one way to see things. But often, the other person’s reaction has nothing to do with you. Keeping an open mind helps you grow and helps others too.
Surround yourself with people who have already succeeded in what you want to do. If you want to become a famous actor, live with people who are already in the film industry. If you want to launch a startup, join a hacker house or a startup bus. These are places where you live and work with others who share your goals. By being around people who are already where you want to be, you naturally pick up their habits and energy.
If you want to be a millionaire, spend time with millionaires. Even if you don’t talk to them much, just living in that environment will change your mindset. After a year or two, you’ll start to think and act like them.
Personal nourishment also means feeding your mind with good things—books, podcasts, audiobooks, and conversations that lift you up. I love listening to audiobooks and podcasts, like “Limitless” by Jim Kwik, and many others. I have a whole collection of books on Kindle and Audible. Every time I read or listen, I learn something new and positive.
It’s important to keep your mind focused and not get distracted by negativity. The more you surround yourself with people who have succeeded and who keep going, the more you’ll grow. Listen to podcasts, read books, watch videos that inspire you. This is how you keep feeding your mind and soul with positive energy.
Today, I wanted to share this with you in a relaxed way, like I’m talking to a friend. Sometimes, the best advice comes when we’re just being ourselves.

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
