There are moments in life when everything feels calm and peaceful. For me, these moments often happen during early morning walks along the esplanade at Baie Elisabeth, where I live. The world is still quiet, the moon is visible, and only a few people are out with their dogs. The sun is just beginning to rise, and there is a sense of pure tranquility. It’s a time to rest, to be present, and to simply enjoy being alive.
These small pockets of peace are more important than we often realize. They give us space to think, reflect, and step back from the rush of daily life. Sometimes, I use these moments to remember good times, to think about what I want to achieve, or to ask myself if I’m really happy with how I spend my days.
For example, I sometimes dream about taking a boat trip or going on a long walk. I ask myself if I truly want to do these things, and if my work and routines are helping me get there. I think about whether I spend enough quality time with my loved ones, or if I’m just going through the motions.
What really brings me joy? Is it a dinner with someone special, a night out at a restaurant, a long hike, shopping, or even playing video games? Everyone has their own answers. Personally, I love meeting up with my girlfriend. We live close by, so we often meet halfway, do some grocery shopping, cook together, and watch a movie. I also enjoy programming and other hobbies. Your favorite things might be different, but the important part is to regularly ask yourself: Do I really enjoy how I spend my days? Would I like to try something new?
It’s easy to fall into routines that don’t truly satisfy us. Maybe you work too much and don’t spend enough time with people who matter to you. Or maybe you keep putting off a project you’ve dreamed about for years, like starting a business or writing a book. Time passes, and nothing changes unless you decide to act.
If you’ve been telling yourself for years that you’ll write a book, but you still haven’t started, ask yourself why. Are you spending your mornings on things that matter less? Are you letting small distractions fill your time instead of focusing on what’s truly important to you?

The answer is often simple: you need to organize your time better and be more disciplined with yourself. Try setting aside a fixed block of time each morning—say, an hour and a half—where you do nothing but work on your main goal. No distractions, no multitasking. If you want to write, write. If you want to create a video course, open your computer and start recording. Prepare everything in advance so you can begin right away.
Sometimes the hardest part is just getting started. If you want to make a video, have your recording software ready to go. If you want to write, have your document open and waiting. The key is to stop wandering online or doing things that don’t bring you real joy or progress.
It’s not just about productivity. It’s about happiness, too. You don’t have to spend all day working on one thing. Balance is important. Make time for work, but also for friends, family, and the simple pleasures of life. Maybe you want to cook with someone you care about, invite friends over, or just have a good conversation with your mother. These moments matter just as much as your big goals.
If you can create days that feel beautiful and balanced, you’ll look back and realize you’ve built a beautiful life.
