Resilience is a quiet force. It’s not about stubbornly banging your head against a wall, hoping it will turn into a door. It’s about believing, deep down, that what you’re doing will work—if you keep at it, step by step. That’s the real power of resilience: the ability to keep moving forward, brick by brick, even when the results aren’t immediate.

Think about writing a novel. You don’t sit down and write 300 pages in one go. You write a word, then another, then another. Word after word, the book takes shape. It’s the same with climbing a mountain—one step, then another, and another. The sum of all those small steps is what gets you to the top.

In everyday life, and in anything you want to achieve, it’s the same story. Small actions, done regularly, add up. The key is consistency. Doing a little bit every day, knowing exactly why you’re doing it, and keeping your long-term goal in mind. If you spend just 10 minutes a day making videos, by the end of the week you’ll have over an hour of content. Ten minutes is nothing, right? Everyone can find 10 minutes. Maybe you don’t have an hour today, but if you do 10 minutes every day, you’ll be amazed at what you can build.

It’s important to know why you’re doing all this. Set a goal for the week. Tell yourself, “This week, I’m going to finish this.” Maybe you’re not sure if it’s a good idea or not, but at least you’re doing it. Then you can adjust, pivot, and find the best way to reach your goal.

There’s no better time to start than now. We all tell ourselves we don’t have time, but time won’t magically appear. In fact, you’ll probably have even less time in the future. The best moment to act is now. It’s like money—we think we’ll have more later, but we also end up with more expenses, more obligations. So, if you want to invest in yourself, do it now.

Take a look at your week. If today is Wednesday or Friday, ask yourself what you can do today, and set a goal for the rest of the week. Maybe it’s getting a certain number of views, starting a course, or writing a chapter of your book. Today, you could define your book’s structure, so you know what you’re talking about and whether it will interest people.

The most important thing is to ask yourself the right questions. It’s easy to act quickly, but if you don’t think about whether what you’re doing is useful, you might be wasting your time. Unless, of course, you love what you’re doing—then it’s more like a hobby. Sometimes hobbies turn into something more, sometimes they don’t. But if you don’t enjoy it, maybe it’s not the best use of your time—unless you know you can make it profitable.

Honestly, I don’t really believe in forcing yourself to do something you don’t like, just for the money. It’s hard to be great at something if you don’t enjoy it. So, look at what you love, your passion projects, and see how you might be able to turn them into something more. Little by little, you’ll find the best balance between profit and well-being. After all, everyone wants a lifestyle and a job that makes them happy. And if you can make money from it, even better.

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”
— Robert Collier

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
— Chinese Proverb

So, take a moment to look at your week. What can you start today? Give yourself a weekly goal, and see what you can accomplish by the end of the week. Define your structure, ask yourself the right questions, and make sure you’re doing something that matters to you.

2010 was a boon year for these butterflies in my garden. I had a dozen chrysalis in all manner of morphs at any one time. In this image you can see the new green chrysalis coloration, one that’s about ready to emerge (the clear one), and a butterfly that’s already come out. They will hang for hours and dry their wings and are, in fact, quite fragile. How to Build Your Oxygen Bubble for Daily Happiness Without Overwhelm - Photo by Suzanne D. Williams on Unsplash
