We often talk about goals and objectives, but rarely do we focus on the magic of creating a new habit every single day. Yet, this is where real change begins.
Whenever you try something new, your brain forms fresh connections. These new pathways allow you to see the world differently, to notice things you never would have imagined before. By doing something out of the ordinary, you’re not just adding a new skill—you’re rewiring your mind.
Take me, for example. I’m a pretty cerebral person, spending most of my time on the computer. My background is in computer engineering. But if you asked me to bake a rum baba, I’d be out of my comfort zone. Maybe it’s because my mother used to love making rum babas when I was a kid, or maybe it’s a strawberry charlotte, a clafoutis, or even a ratatouille. The point is, when you try your hand at something new—like cooking a dish you’ve never made before—you open yourself up to a whole new world.

You might find yourself watching videos of famous pastry chefs, admiring their creativity and skill. Maybe you’ll even visit their restaurants, inspired by how they craft chocolate cakes or other desserts. Even if you’re not used to baking, by starting this new activity, you’re building a new habit. And with each new habit, you open the door to achievements you never thought possible.
Sometimes, you’ll discover passions you never knew you had. Remember, you only get one life. That’s why it’s so important to try as many things as you can, right here and now. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you want to do today. If you keep doing the same things, you’ll keep living the same life. And if you only copy others, you’ll end up living someone else’s life, not your own.
Listen to yourself. Trust your instincts. Do what speaks to you and what feels true to who you are. I’m with you on this journey, 100%. I hope you really take this to heart, because building new habits and doing different things every day is the key to a richer life.
