How to Build a Winning Vision Without Comparing Yourself to Others

What does it really mean to have a winning vision? For some, winning is about competition, but for me, it’s about becoming a better version of myself each day. My hero isn’t someone else—it’s who I want to be in ten years. Every day, I try to be just a little better than I was yesterday. I don’t compare myself to others, because that’s like comparing my inner world to someone else’s highlight reel. Instead, I focus on investing in my own life.

Every day is packed with opportunities, but you have to know how to create them. If you stay at home, hidden away, it’s much harder to make things happen. Creating opportunities often means talking to new people, even if it’s just a simple “How are you?” in the elevator. Elevators are actually great places to start conversations—people aren’t in a rush, and it doesn’t feel strange to share an idea or project. For example, I once talked about my side project, MealSnap, an app I developed to record meals and recipes. Sharing your ideas in these small moments can open unexpected doors.

But it’s not just about real-life encounters. Surround yourself with inspiration, even virtually. Read or listen to biographies, find stories that spark your creativity, go for walks, and most importantly, know where you want to go. If you don’t have a direction, it’s like getting into a taxi and telling the driver to take you nowhere—he can’t help you if you don’t know your destination.

Set clear deadlines for your goals. Maybe you want to write a book or complete a project in two months. It’s like hiking ten kilometers: you take one step after another, and all those steps add up. The same goes for writing a book—word by word, the pages come together.

Ask yourself: What opportunities can I create today? What can I accomplish? How can I invest in myself? Learning is important, but don’t fall into the trap of only consuming content. That’s passive learning. The real magic happens when you use active learning: for every hour you spend learning, spend at least 20 to 30 minutes creating something. It doesn’t have to be a video—it could be coding, gardening, or baking a cake. If you watch a 20-minute video on making desserts, get into the kitchen and try it yourself. Watching others makes it look easy, but you only really learn by doing.

Mistakes are your best teachers. When you practice, you learn much more than by just watching or reading. You hold the keys to your own growth. If you want to go further, invest in yourself, take courses, and keep pushing your limits.

Time is life. Wasting time is wasting life. Don’t wait for the perfect moment—it doesn’t exist. The best time to take action is now. Write down your thoughts, your fears, your plans. Seeing your worries on paper helps you move forward. Most negative feelings are just different forms of fear. When you recognize them, you can start to let go.

I know I’ve touched on a lot of topics, but that’s what happens when you’re passionate—you want to share everything. That’s why my workshops are more structured and go deeper into specific themes. But here, I want you to remember: you already have everything you need to start. Before dinner tonight, you could already be making progress. Tomorrow morning, you’ll see the results if you put these ideas into practice.
