How to Build a Life That Feels Right Without Chasing Excitement

What does it really mean to live a fulfilled life? Is it about chasing endless excitement, or is there something deeper that brings lasting satisfaction? I want to share a simple truth: the secret to a life that feels right often comes down to choosing your environment—where you live, where you spend your time, and the kind of life you want to repeat every day without getting bored.

When people are asked what kind of life they want, many imagine a non-stop party—nights out, friends, excitement. But if that became your everyday reality, would it still feel special? Most likely, you’d get tired of it. That’s why it’s important to think about a lifestyle that brings you peace and contentment, not just short bursts of fun.

Personally, I love living close to nature. Right now, I live in Canberra. It’s a quiet place, not crowded, very clean, and surrounded by green spaces. Sure, there’s not much happening on Friday or Saturday nights—if you’re looking for the best nightlife, Canberra isn’t the place. For that, in Australia, I’d probably pick Melbourne first, then Sydney. But for me, Canberra is a great fit.

The key is to get to know yourself. Maybe you dream of living in a remote village, far from everything, somewhere in France, or maybe in Scotland, Normandy, Austria, or another peaceful region. The important thing is to find a place that lets you recharge and feel good about yourself.

When you feel at home in your environment, everything else falls into place. You make better decisions, you feel more at ease, and life just seems to flow. That’s the real difference—feeling supported by your surroundings, rather than drained by them.

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.
