Have you ever wondered what it really means to live a life that excites you? Not just a life that looks good on paper, but one that actually feels right every morning when you wake up. The answer, I believe, lies in the idea of greatness—not in the sense of fame or fortune, but in having a clear vision of what you want to create for yourself.

Greatness starts with clarity. It’s about knowing, deep down, what you want to achieve and how you want your days to look. Most of us, if we’re honest, don’t always feel comfortable in our own skin. We might not even like our lives that much. But instead of asking the right questions, we often just go through the motions.

What if, instead, you asked yourself: What would my ideal day look like? And more importantly, what is one small thing I could change today to get closer to that day? You don’t have to change everything at once. Start with one thing—today, then tomorrow, and the day after that.

A simple habit that can change everything is to do a weekly review. Every Sunday, look back at your week. What went well? What did you add to your life that you want to keep? What would you rather remove? This kind of personal check-in, almost like a ceremony, can completely shift how you experience your days.

Right now, I’m writing from a cozy café in Seoul. I’m here for a few weeks, just exploring the city. I love it—the energy, the kindness of the people, the endless coffee shops. Being here reminds me how important it is to ask yourself what really matters to you. Maybe you want to travel the world, live in Korea, learn a new language, become great at surfing or basketball, or see an NBA game in the US. Whatever your dream is, ask yourself: What can I start doing today to make it happen? Maybe it’s as simple as saving a little money each week.

We’re all good at making excuses. They make us feel better in the short term, but they keep us stuck. If you want a different life, you can’t keep doing the same things. Excuses are just ways to justify staying where you are. There’s always a way to take action, even if it’s small.

There’s an old Chinese proverb that says:

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.
— Anonymous

If you had started twenty years ago, you’d have a beautiful tree today. But if you plant it now, in twenty years you’ll still have something amazing. It’s the same with your life. The best moment to grow is today—not tomorrow, not next week. Today.

I believe in you. Take that first step. Grow. We grow together.

Reflection

What is one thing I can do today to move closer to the life I want? What excuse have I been telling myself that I can let go of right now?

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
