How I Spot and Seize the Right Opportunities Each Day
Personal Growth Strategies
Every morning, as I wake up and feel the comfort of my pillow, I’m reminded that the day ahead is full of possibilities. The only real limit to what I can achieve is the one I set in my own mind. Time is precious, but how I manage it—and what I choose to focus on—matters even more.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices each day brings. The real challenge isn’t finding opportunities; it’s choosing the right ones and acting on them. I’ve learned that prioritizing is essential. Not all tasks are equal—some have a much greater impact. Focusing on the few actions that make the biggest difference is what truly moves things forward.
The Power of Prioritization
This is where the Pareto Principle, or 80/20 rule, comes in. I aim to spend 20% of my time on the tasks that generate 80% of my results. If I don’t, I end up frustrated, knowing I’ve only scratched the surface of what was possible. The goal isn’t to seize every opportunity, but to make sure I grab at least one meaningful one each day.
Every day is a new chance—a lever to become better, to give my best. But to do that, I have to work on myself, not just my to-do list. Mindset is as important as action. Success isn’t something I chase; it’s something I become. Sometimes, I have to admit I’m not yet the person who can achieve what I want. That’s okay. The question is: What can I do to make it easier for myself to succeed? Sometimes, it’s as simple as imagining I’ve already made it—adopting the posture, thoughts, and self-image of someone who has already succeeded.
Breaking Mental Barriers
What holds us back is often internal. We all have mental fences—limiting beliefs that whisper, “No one in my family has succeeded, so why should I?” or “I didn’t go to the right school, so I’m destined to fail.” These are just stories we tell ourselves. The truth is, everything is possible if you truly want it.
Changing your perspective changes everything. We all interpret problems differently. My job is to process information and strip away as many limiting beliefs as possible. I try to see challenges as invitations: “This looks impossible, but what can I do differently to make it possible?” Sometimes, the solution isn’t to work harder, but to work differently.
The Importance of Environment
One of the biggest shifts in my journey came from changing my environment. If you want to save yourself years of frustration, don’t underestimate the power of your surroundings. Sometimes, the answer isn’t to push through at your desk, but to step outside, go to a café, or try a coworking space. If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always gotten.
I love reading magazines outside my field—my background is in IT, but I’ll pick up anything that sparks my curiosity. I have a book I’ve carried with me since I was a student, back in 2009. It’s been with me on beaches in Guadeloupe, in cafés, in airports, even on flights. This book is more than just pages; it’s a reminder that everything is possible. It’s my personal talisman, a source of confidence and nostalgia, a symbol that I can break through any limiting belief.

Rituals and Resilience
Having this book at the start of my career gave me the courage to believe in myself. It’s a deeply personal feeling, but we all have something that grounds us. For me, this book is a ritual of pride—a reminder that the world is full of possibilities, and that wanting something passionately is the first step to making it real.
But determination isn’t the same as stubbornness. Sometimes, what I want just isn’t working. Maybe my product isn’t resonating, or my marketing channel is off. If things stagnate, I have to be willing to pivot. Only a fool does the same thing over and over and expects different results. Progress means knowing when to move to level two, or three, or to try something entirely new.
Protecting Your Most Valuable Asset
Immersion is key. I put my phone on airplane mode to create a safe space, free from distractions. None of us would leave our wallet on a café table, but we give away our time so freely. Yet time is more valuable than money; once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. That’s why managing my day well is non-negotiable.
The Meta-Skill of Creative Practice
One habit that’s transformed my life is daily creative practice. Whether it’s writing, making a video, or simply explaining something in a new way, expressing myself creatively for 10 or 15 minutes each day is a meta-skill that opens doors. The tools might change, but the ability to create and communicate never will.
Reading even a single passage from my favorite book can spark new ideas, connect memories, and lead to unexpected breakthroughs. Sometimes, the act of reading triggers a chain reaction, linking unrelated thoughts and giving birth to something entirely new. That’s how opportunities are born—by staying open, curious, and willing to act on inspiration.
Today Is the Best Time to Act
Life is overflowing with opportunities. The best time to act is always now. Don’t put off what you want to do. The world is waiting for you to step forward.
