When you live and breathe your brand, it becomes more than just a business. It’s like your own child—something you care for, think about, and nurture every single day. That’s how I feel about my SaaS, wiener.io. I’m always thinking about how to make it better, how to talk about it, and how to share it with the right people.

Recently, I sat down for a brainstorming session to figure out a new marketing offer. I wanted something special, not just another boring promo email that ends up in the trash. The idea was to celebrate spring here in Melbourne. Even though today is a bit cloudy, the weather is getting nicer, and that’s something worth marking.

But how do you create an offer that stands out? I didn’t want to be “just another promo.” I wanted to give real value, especially to freelancers—people in creative fields, those who design logos, work with data, or turn their services into products. That’s the magic of productizing: you stop selling your time and start selling a productized version of your service.

The standard price for wiener.io is $59 per month. For this special, I thought: what if I offer it at $37 for the first six months? But only for the first three days. After that, the price would go up in steps: $39, then $49, then $57, and finally back to $59. Each step would last a few days, making the offer feel urgent and real.

I realized that explaining all these steps in one email would be a mess. So, I decided to send a series of emails: the first with the $37 offer, then another saying how successful it was and introducing the next price tier, and so on. This way, each message is clear and focused.

This process reminded me of something from my programming days: the “rubber duck debugging” method. You talk through your problem—sometimes to a colleague, sometimes to a rubber duck on your desk—and just by explaining it out loud, you often find the solution. Marketing works the same way. Talking things out, even just to yourself, helps you see what works and what doesn’t.

If you’re a solo founder or web entrepreneur, you know how lonely it can get. Sure, you can talk to AI tools, and sometimes they feel like your co-founder. But nothing beats talking things out, even if it’s just to a camera or a friend at a bar. That’s how you get those “aha!” moments—like realizing that maybe $57 is too close to $59, and $54 would make a better price point.

Long-term projects are what keep me motivated. When you wake up in the morning and have something meaningful to work on, it changes everything. Otherwise, you just stay in bed, and the hours slip by. Routine matters, too. A good routine keeps you healthy and focused. For me, it’s about having breakfast, getting outside, and sticking to habits that support my work and well-being.
