How Going All-In Transforms Any Task Into Progress

Have you ever noticed how doing something with your full intensity completely transforms the experience? Whether it’s work, a hobby, or even binge-watching your favorite series, giving it your all makes a real difference.

Imagine treating even a simple task like a sprint. When you focus so deeply that you block out everything else, you enter your own bubble. You work, you create, you move forward. This doesn’t just apply to your job. Think about the last time you wanted to watch an entire season of a show like Breaking Bad or Brooklyn Nine-Nine. You probably set aside a whole Friday night, ordered your favorite pizza, maybe some drinks, and just went for it. That’s intensity. The same goes for gaming. After a long week, you might reward yourself by diving into a new game all weekend. You’re not just playing—you’re fully immersed.

There are two main ways to get things done. Some people prefer to work steadily, step by step. Others, like me, thrive on short, intense sprints. Both approaches are valid. We all have our own rhythms and ways of working. The key is to know yourself and find what suits you best.

Personally, I sometimes go into what I call “hermit weekends.” Every three months or so, I check into a nice hotel, stock up on food in advance so I won’t be distracted, and shut myself off from the world. I start working as soon as I check in on Saturday afternoon and keep going until Monday morning—or even Monday midday if I can get a late checkout. During these weekends, I’ve managed to publish two and a half courses, sometimes working more than thirty hours in just a couple of days. It’s intense, but the results speak for themselves.

Of course, after such deep immersion, you’ll feel exhausted. You might even feel like you’re running on autopilot, barely aware of what’s happening around you. Your energy drops, your focus slips, and mistakes start to creep in. That’s normal. The trick is to recognize when you’re hitting that wall. Take a break. Go for a walk in the park, get some fresh air, or take a short nap. Rest is essential for keeping your energy up and your mind sharp.

Energy is everything. It’s what keeps you awake, alert, and able to do your best work. When you start making mistakes, it’s a sign you need to recharge. After a quick rest, you’ll be ready to jump back in.

So, try immersing yourself in short, intense sprints. See how it feels. When it comes to productivity, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. We’re all different, and that’s perfectly fine. The important thing is to experiment and find what works for you.

And remember, productivity is only part of the story. It’s just as important to stay happy and fulfilled. There’s no point in being productive if you’re not enjoying life.
