Personal Fulfillment

What if your real purpose in life isn’t about collecting diplomas, climbing the corporate ladder, or earning praise from others? Imagine waking up each day not to chase someone else’s definition of success, but to live a life that feels deeply, personally fulfilling. Too often, we pour energy into external achievements and overlook the simple, lasting happiness that comes from living in alignment with our true selves.

For me, the main goal in life is clear: to be sublimely, genuinely happy. Not just content, but truly filled up from the inside. That kind of happiness doesn’t come from ticking off society’s checkboxes—it comes from designing a life that fits you perfectly.

The Live Book: Your Personal Blueprint

How do you start building a life that’s truly yours? The most effective tool I’ve found is a “live book.” This isn’t a diary or a vision board, but a living document—something you write, review, and update regularly. In your live book, you describe in concrete terms what your ideal life looks like. It’s a touchstone you return to daily, a way to check in with yourself and make sure you’re moving in the right direction.

You don’t need a fancy app or special notebook. A simple page in a sturdy journal, a note on your phone, or a digital document will do. The key is to make it accessible and personal. On the first page, lay out your priorities: what matters most to you right now? What kind of lifestyle do you want to create? This isn’t about what you think you should want, but what actually lights you up.

Aligning Your Actions

Once you’ve defined your priorities, use them as the foundation for your decisions. For example, maybe you dream of running a business that fits your lifestyle. If you live in a hot country, you might notice people need better protection from the sun. You could start a business selling stylish, UV-protective t-shirts—helping others while building something that aligns with your values and environment. Or perhaps you want to teach others how to launch their own creative projects, sharing your passion through online courses.

The point isn’t what you do, but how closely it matches the life you want. Your live book becomes a filter: does this opportunity, project, or relationship fit with your vision? If not, can you delegate, automate, or let it go? The more you align your daily actions with your live book, the more you’ll feel that deep sense of satisfaction.

The Bucket List: Dream Boldly, Live Simply

On the next page of your live book, create your bucket list. Write down everything you absolutely want to experience or accomplish in your lifetime. Don’t hold back—this is your space to dream big and get specific.

But focus on the small, meaningful things as much as the grand gestures. Happiness isn’t found in accumulating more stuff or chasing fleeting thrills. It’s in the little marvels that make your days magical—a walk in the countryside, a cozy home, a quiet morning with your favorite book. Maybe your dream is to own a tiny house in the country, or a chalet in Norway with a jacuzzi overlooking the mountains. Or perhaps you long for a garden with a natural hot spring, a place to unwind and reconnect.

These aren’t just fantasies—they’re clues to the life that will truly make you happy. By writing them down, you give yourself permission to pursue them, step by step.

Keep It Fresh: Update As You Grow

Life isn’t static, and neither is your live book. As you grow, your values and desires will shift. Each year, take time to review and update your live book. What’s changed? What new priorities have emerged? What dreams no longer fit, and what new ones have taken their place?

This annual reset keeps your live book relevant and alive. It’s a chance to realign, let go of what no longer serves you, and recommit to what matters most.

How to Start Your Own Live Book

If you’re ready to design a life that’s truly yours, here’s how to begin:

  1. Set aside time to reflect on what makes you genuinely happy—not what impresses others, but what fills you up.
  2. Write your live book on a single page, listing your top priorities and describing your ideal lifestyle in concrete terms.
  3. Create your bucket list on the next page, including both big dreams and small joys.
  4. Review your live book daily—even just for a few minutes—to keep your vision fresh and your actions aligned.
  5. Update your live book each year to reflect your evolving values and dreams.

Your live book isn’t meant to restrict you. It’s a structure that supports your happiness—a foundation for a life that feels truly, deeply yours.
